Hero 6 Black randomly displays 0% Battery even if the battery is fully charged
[ New ]Good day everyone,
I just bought a Hero 6 Black and I didn't have big issues so far, but this problem concerns me since this is a brand new unit and should not have problems like these.
I charged my camera for 4 hours yesterday before taking it with me on a hike, but today as soon as I turned it on it displayed the 0% battery warning. It then disappeared and went back to normal after a reboot.
Also another thing I noticed is that when I plug it to a power source the red light turns off after a bit of time even if the battery isn't fully charged.. but what might be causing it?
I am using a SanDisk Extreme 32GB and my firmware is currently the v2.01 and I'm using my iPhone 7 Apple Charger with the original GoPro USB Cable.
Thank you!

Re: Hero 6 Black randomly displays 0% Battery even if the battery is fully charged
[ New ]Hello @thai90,
Sorry to hear about the trouble. Definitely not an expected behavior for a new camera. If you have not done it yet, try manually updating the camera's firmware even if the camera already has the latest firmware. This is to ensure that errors with the current installation will be cleared out. You can do the update by following the instructions below:
- Go to the HERO6 Black update page.
- Under "Other ways to update" at the base of the page, click "Update your camera manually."
- Enter your Serial Number and other requested information, click Next Step.
- Click "Download Update."
- Click "Click here to download firmware."
- Follow the steps on the screen for detailed instructions for your operating system
Make sure that your camera is fully charged and that the SD card is formatted prior to updating. Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Marius
