Hero 6 Black Overheat on higher fps??
[ New ]Thinking to upgrade my hero 5 black to hero 6 black... i'm doing most video non stop recording on the back of motorcycle in a hot climate, because i live in Jakarta,Indonesia.
hero 6 higher FPS, dynamic range, and EIS is very tempting.. but found in one of review that hero 6 will stop recording because OVERHEAT on non stop recording 1080 120fps in indoor situation that not so hot situation around 48-50minutes of non stop recording
can anyone that already have test it and confirm this?
is he the one that have this problem (factory defect) or all the hero 6 is having this issue?
please someone clarify this, so i can decide will uprage or not..
thank you very much for helping..
cheers..

Re: Hero 6 Black Overheat on higher fps??
[ New ]@Anonymous - Manufacturer defects that qualify for a warranty replacement are determined by our Support team. It's possible there is one here, but the team will want to troubleshoot it first. Overheating is often related to an issue with the SD card, so they'll want to see a test with other SD cards first. If the issue is with the SD card, it won't matter how many times the camera is replaced, the issues will continue to happen as long as that same SD card is used.

[ New ]@Anonymous - Just ran my HERO6 on those settings for an hour and 10 minutes (ran out of battery at that point) and had no issues with it.

Re: Hero 6 Black Overheat on higher fps??
[ New ]Thank you for the reply guys..
@jefft so it means the hero 6 that been using for the review have a defect?
if it happen to me, the warranty will cover and i can ask the replacement unit?
on the test, he doing it comparisson side by side.. so it will have the same condition ( temperatur etc.. ) but the hero 6 doing heat protection and shut down by itself, while the hero 5 keep on recording until hero 5 run out battery..

Re: Hero 6 Black Overheat on higher fps??
[ New ]Additionally, this was prior to the latest update that did address some battery issues. It's possible the older update was causing issues.

Re: Hero 6 Black Overheat on higher fps??
[ New ]The Hero6 works great for me and I'm very happy. If you order from GoPro.com you'll have 30 days to return for refund of you don't agree. Most stores also offer a return policy so you can try that route as well.
