Re: Hero 5 black freezing on quickcapture

I manually downgraded back to the 1.57 firmware and everything worked fine.

I then manually upgraded back to the latest 2.00 firmware and that seemed to correct the problem for me.

Re: Hero 5 black freezing on quickcapture

This is a temporary solution. There must be a solution in the new update.

Re: Hero 5 black freezing on quickcapture

Where can I find the old firmware version?

Re: Hero 5 black freezing on quickcapture

Thank you. Happening to me too, on both SanDisk Extreme and Lexar micoSD cards. Back in May this was not a problem, now I have to turn off Voice Commands for Quick Capture to work.

GoPro, please expedite fix for this issue

I have this problem as well. Hopefully, it is addressed in the next firmware update.

Re: Hero 5 black freezing on quickcapture

I have the same problem and been able to reproduce it on every Hero 5 I have tried (at least 4 of them). There are few options that needs to be set, although most of them are defaults. If any of these are not set, the problem will not occur:

- Voice control ON
- Auto Low Light ON
- Video Stabilization ON
- Video format NTSC

Now, if camera is turned off, and you press Quik button to start recording, in low-light environment camera will freeze almost every time.
