The Wifi on my Hero 5 black won't turn off. I've tried every trick I've read through these feeds and nothing works. Blue light just keeps blinking and it's sucking down the battary at an alarming rate. I've been on telephone line for gopro help for 1.2.5 hours now and still waiting for a service tech. I have:
Reset to factory defaults
plugged it into pc app and made sure firmware is up to date.
taken out the sd card
screemed at it
cursed at go pro

There is a flashing blue light on the front top left. It appears to be a consistant problem with several models based on different posts here in this room. It indicates the Wifi is on. but I'm not connected and can't connect because it says the Wifi is busy. Even when I power down, the light keeps blinking

In general, you don't need to turn the wi-fi off on the H5 Black because it automatically shuts off when disconnected. The Blutooth stays on for eight hours, but that has very little impact on the camera battery.

The problem is the camera believes its connected so i can't connect it to my mobile device. It won't allow me to reset connections, or turn off the wifi connection. Basically the wifi is stuck on, and its therefore draining down the battery. I simply want to turn it off so I can connect it to my fone. I hadn't noticed the light either, until yesterday, when suddently it started blinking and prevents me from shutting down the camera completely -- because it believes its connected to remotely to my fone but its not
