UPDATE
Ppl, ditch the SanDisk card. I tried two Kingston cards, magically everything is solved - works like a breeze.
It's that simple.
Yes, GoPro should NOT recommend it, but 20€-30€, isn't much if your expensive Hero 5 finally works exactly as desribed in the manual.

Finally, the 5 Black looks OK with a Lexar 633x 64GB, so Gopro should just not recommend the 64GB Sandisk Extremes...
By the way, the 633x are cheaper...

I too am having problems with the SanDisk Extreme 128G (SDSQXVF-128G). I have tried formatting the card within the GoPro and on the computer, also ran the manual update from the card. It appeared to work at first as it showed the amount of time I could record for, but once I started to record it popped up with SD Error! Just wondering if anyone knows of a link to GoPro officially recognising the issue with the SanDisk cards? Would nice to be able to keep track of any firmware updates that fix this issues, and a timeline for the fix.

@quickwater0820 I almost swear tht the issue seems to be related to when the card is used as an updating card as I had no issues with my GoPro Hero 5 until after I put the update file on the card and did the update. Of course the update itself could have been the issue but I had reformatted the card following the update procedure. Dunno.

Update.
I posted earlier that if you push the SD card into the connector several times that would correct the SD error. It did take about 3 days but I did get the SD error after a while. I have since replace the SANDISK SD card with a Lexar Professional 1000x microSDXC 64GB UHS-II/U3. So far no issue. Will keep you updated.

You'll want to watch close. I had posted something similar way back near the beginning of this thread and found that the error made me a fibber. I shortly thereafter had the problem.
One Question @Anonymous have you updated your GoPro Hero 5 to the latest firmware? If not, would love to hear how the SANDISK micro SD card works after doing an update?
