Hero 5 Black did freeze while SAVING msg on LCD and now doesn't turn on anymore!?

When taking pictures the camera did freeze on SAVING (lcd message)... After trying anything to make it works I held the MODE button and it turned off... Now I can't turn it on anymore... Even if I connect it to my computer via USB it doesn't even turn the charging light on. It's DEAD on first day use. :( Please help I have a trip to other country in the next 3 days.

It is likely the SD Card. Please check the list of recommended SD Cards here: https://gopro.com/help/articles/Block/microSD-Card-Considerations

I'm super sorry to hear that! Were you able to get the camera to turn back on? You can try pulling the battery out and reinserting it to see if it will power back on. At this point it may require a charge though, too. Try leaving it plugged into the computer or a wall charger for several hours to see if it will charge up. Finally, you can try running a manual update to the camera using the link HERE. Make sure to choose "Update your camera manually" under OTHER WAYS TO UPDATE.

Hello again. I try another SD card and now everything is ok. First card was SAMSUNG, the another one is Transcend, but it working fine. So maybe the problem was the SD card. I test it only for one day, but in tihis time everything was ok. Mira.

Hello, sounds like a good idea but personally, I don't want to go out and purchase a new SD card since the one I am trying to use is brand new! Also, I can't really return it since I bought it abroad. Any other solutions?

same issue please help, i have a 32Gb Sandisk Ultra and camera firmware 2.0

It happened to me as well. I used Samsung 128GB and twice it was hanging with SAVING message on LCD. I pull out the battery and all my recordings were gone. Then I switch to Sandisk 32GB and it works properly.

Is it Samsung card the problem?
