I am also experiencing the same issue. I was using a 64gb kingston SD card. and it keep giving me the problem. and once i restarted the gopro, it keeps showing me 0% for my battery level but i can still continue using it (same for everyone else???).
Also my video always stop at 14second.....
I have tried it with my samsung 16gb sd card and it works fine after that.
I have tried all the solution on gopro. formatting my SD card to ensure nth is wrong but it still wouldnt work for my kingston SD card.
please rectify the issue on your next update!!!

So it looks like the peeps at GoPro can't reply to this.
From since writing my post I have found that this problem occurs after having a failed/incomplete download on to my Mac.
I guess while writing to the machine, a temp file gets saved on the GoPro which is like a progress save and so gets currupted when it can't complete its job entirely.
The GoPro seems to operate normally if you persist to ensure that your download completes fully or you format sd card.
What is really also very annoying is that you cannot manually select which files you want to download on GoPro Quick desktop app. It's just all or nothing. Not great when you are running out of space and only need one video clip.

I manage to resolve my problem by simply restarting my gopro twice
First time when it got stuck while saving, hold the mode button to shut if off.
Press mode again, once, to turn it back on.
Once it is on, hold mode to do a proper shutting off procedure. You should hear a few more *beeps* than the first thing u off ur gopro when it got stuck
After that just turn it back on and it should work fine.
I am not sure if that will help you but it did for me :)

same thing is happening to me my hero freezes and we found a solution. the shopkeeper where you bought it propably gave you the wrong memory card
Hello, sounds like a good idea but personally, I don't want to go out and purchase a new SD card since the one I am trying to use is brand new! Also, I can't really return it since I bought it abroad. Any other solutions?
definitely try to take it out and put it back in

The same issue with the new GoPro 6! And this was my very first video with it. After one long shoot of approx. 40 mins, It was saving for 15 minutes and then it turned out autom. Since then it doesn't want to turn on again, pulling the battery also doesn't help. My sd card is 32gb SanDisk. What to do?

SanDisk Ultra 32GB MicroSD HC
I wonder if there is a way to turn back on the camera? Any advice? As I said, removing the battery didn't help. Can I do something else?

It is likely the SD Card. Please check the list of recommended SD Cards here: https://gopro.com/help/articles/Block/microSD-Card-Considerations
