On power on, my GoPro Hero 5 Black starts to initialise on boot up but then;-
• I hear three beeps from the speaker
• the red l.e.d. light briefly comes on with the speaker sound, flashes quickly three times then fades
• the image screen flashes on for less than a second, then
everything resets back to the beginning.
This is in a continuous loop and occurs whether boot up is attempted under battery of USB power sources, and with or without the sim card installed.
I have tried hard reset (hold power button for 8-10 seconds) under all permutations of battery in/out, sim card in/out, nothing works
I have also formatted the micro sim, downloaded the firmware package, and loaded it to the card but the boot up stops before any time to read the card.
This is extremely frustrating, seeing as it appears the Hero5 Black firmware can only be updated via Wi-Fi (no chance of that on a three second aborted boot up).
I have only had this device for a few months and am extremely frustrated.

manual firmware upload to a filedolder called UPDATE not update all three files. wit hthe camera in the On state put the sdxc card in. it should grab the firmware right away and load. i proven that you can load firmware this way.
If all else fails you must get to an agent request for an RMA as the internal memory is currupted, stuck on a recycle
