I have suddenly been having trouble transferring photos and video from GoPro to iPad using the GoPro app. After a few seconds of connection the GoPro screen will blackout and the WiFi connection is lost. I have done this many many times before without any issues.
Both devices are up to date. I can’t understand the sudden problem.

Can you try to reset connection or reset factory settings?
- From the main screen, swipe down.
- Tap Connect > Reset Connections and then tap Reset.
- You will now have a new password that is created by the camera.
If that won't work you can also install a new firmware.

I tried resetting connections and have done a factory reset. I have also manually installed the latest firmware.
the WiFi still loses connection after a few seconds of loading a preview of photos.
I am also having the same problem when using the app on my HTC mobile phone. ☹️
