Hero 5 Black: Overheating and camera dead...

Yesterday i was snorkeling with the camera (i've been doing it for a week). Everything was fine but suddenly the GoPro Hero 5 Black said that it was overheated (in the water). It has done this 3 or 4 times and then stopped functioning.

Y changed the battery (i have 2, taking care no water gets inside) and the camera continued to do the overheating thing 2 times more and then died.

When i went back to the hotel i've charged the batteries (whit GoPro external charger), put one into the camera, but nothing happened.

I tried connecting the camera direct to a charger and it got very hot, some water appeared inside the len, and the camera was still dead.

Today i tried to switch it on, it work for 3 seconds and then overheating again. Now is dead again.

What can i do? I'm completely sure it was well closed, so it's impossible that water came into...

@elale82 - Overheating can be related to the SD card. Which one are you using?

As for the water in the lens, if that's the only place you see water, it should be ok. That lens cover can be removed by pulling and twisting it. If you get it off, clean it up and check the seals, then reattach it.

Thanks,

Jeff

Yes. Overheating is often related to the camera being unable to read the SD card, keeping the camera in an active "reading" mode. Non-compatible cards are more likely to have this issue.

I have had the exact same thing happen today whilst on holiday in Hawaii, how did this work for you?
