Hero 5 Black 4K HDMI

Does the Hero 5 Black's HDMI out support 4K resolutions? Can't seem to find this info anywhere.

@spirytree81182 - A similar post on this topic is at https://community.gopro.com/t5/Cameras/Hero-5-HDMI-out/m-p/14379/highlight/true#M6847. Looks like it is possible to output the 4K footage by the HDMI.

Are the cables 4K HDMI?

Re: Hero 5 Black 4K HDMI

Thanks! I had seen that, but wasn't clear what it meant (exporting sounded like recorded video). That is correct though.

In case anyone comes across this, yes, the Hero 5 Black will output up to 4K live view, only when not recording. When the camera is recording, the live view is limited to 720p@60fps. It also looks to be in 10bit 4:4:4 color space (I'm having some issues with a blackmagic capture card becasue of this). Needless to say, you'll need the proper cables and equipment (i.e. HDMI 1.4a or newer) if you want to make use of it.
