Re: Hero 4 silver update failed

@Anonymous,

Unfortunately I can't see what the symbol looks like, but some common things that can cause an update to fail is if the UPDATE folder says UPDATE (1) or (2). Also, do make sure you've got an UPDATE folder and are not just moving the files over. They've got to be in a folder named UPDATE (without .zip at the end or a zipper on the icon).

And you'll also want to make sure you didn't double click on any of the files inside of the UPDATE folder. That will use them and then you'll have to delete all the files and redownload them.

Re: Hero 4 silver update failed

 It seems to look like the Folder is untiled.

It needs to say UPDATE in all caps: "UPDATE"

If not then the camera won't do so.

Like @mattb said, you'll want to click eject on the SD Card.

Also I would recommend SD card on the camera, then drop that folder on to it again.

Re: Hero 4 silver update failed

Hello @mattb and thank you for your response. I have rechecked my steps over and over reformatted my SanDisk every single time. I have even done it through the camera and through my laptop just making sure I did not make a mistake. i did notice on another forum where it did mention that exact detail about the folders. I made sure that wasn't the case either and still same result. here's the link to my youtube video of what's happening https://youtu.be/5J9o1IPtsCo

Re: Hero 4 silver update failed

@chrisediting yes i have and even made sure that there was no number following the folder named update. I then drag the folder over to the sandisk. ill put the sandisk back in turn it on it'll say update it'll restart then show what's on my youtube video. thank you for your time.

This seems weird the camera is doing this, did you try using the New GoPro App for Desktop? or App?
