I have got the same problem for my gopro hero 4.
I have already reset the camera to default en did the WiFi reset numerous times but the named solution is still not working. I even get a red screen saying the password cannot be "goprohero" Really frustrated here. Does anyone know what to do?

Have you tried following the steps posted above?
If you already did the next step is to uninstall and reinstall the app.
Remove Bluetooth Device ID on your Phone's Bluetooth Settings.
Forget Wi-Fi SSID and pair the camera again.

I found that on Android phones that it's not enough to just delete your GoPro from the WiFi settings. You also need to click on the "advanced" tab in your wifi options and from there choose "Manage Networks". You will need to delete (forget) the GoPro connection from in there also. If you do not do this, you will constantly get the "incorrect password" error no matter how many times you reset your gopro WiFi.
