Hero 4 session videos are all blue tinted. I've tried different white balance adjustments, thoughts?

Hi @hobie55,

Would you mind posting some of the footage so we can take a look? Screenshots of will work as well. I would also recommend updating the camera to the latest firmware if you have not done so already: https://gopro.com/update/hero_session. Make sure you are using a recommend SD Card as well: https://gopro.com/help/articles/Block/microSD-Card-Considerations.

As far as settings I would turn Protune change the White Balance. Set the white balance to 6500 and see if that helps! That should make the footage on the warmer side or at least balance out the blue tint that you are seeing. Hope that helps!

Best,

Ryan

Hi @hobie55,

Welcome to the GoPro Community! Sorry to hear you are having some trouble with your HERO4 Session. There are a number of environmental factors that could be causing what you are seeing. There are a few followup questions that could help to answer that for you:

  • What type of environment are you recording in? (i.e. Sunny, Cloudy)
  • What settings are you recording in?
  • Do you have Pro-Tune on?
  • Does all of the footage have a Blue Tint?

It would definitely be helpful to see some of the videos/screenshots you are talking about!

Best,

Ryan

I've shot video in both sun and cloudy conditions, seems to always be blue tinted.

Shooting 960-60 W

I've tried Pro-tune off and on, it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Maybe there's a setting I can't figure out but I have no clue.

My still pictures are great, no blue tint, just can't figure out the issue with video...help!

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for the quick response. I updated my session on quik, didn't really change anything else and at least for now, the blue tint is gone. I appreciate the help. I certainly hope the problem is permanently solved.

Thanks again!
