Hero 4 Silver Freezes - Worth Repairing?
[ New ]My Hero 4 Silver is frozen. It will start but then freeze. No matter what i try it will not work. Been thru all the trouble shooting steps. Is it worth having it repaired? Has anyone done this? Thanks.

Re: Hero 4 Silver Freezes - Worth Repairing?
[ New ]One thing to check is that the SD card you're using is compatible with your camera. A non-compatible card can cause freezing. Our list of recommended cards are at https://community.gopro.com/t5/en/SD-Cards-that-Work-with-GoPro-Cameras/ta-p/394308.
Also, try doing a manual update on the camera's firmware. Instructions are at https://gopro.com/en/us/update/hero4.

Re: Hero 4 Silver Freezes - Worth Repairing?
[ New ]Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the response. Camera freezes with no SD card. When I tried to update per the instructions camera freezes, can't boot it with or with out SD card. So I really want to know if I should toss it out or have it repaired? This is the second one i have had which was a replacement for my original one that did the same thing. Thanks.

Re: Hero 4 Silver Freezes - Worth Repairing?
[ New ]I'd suggest reaching out to our team at https://gopro.com/help/ContactUs about this. It's odd that the same thing is happening with two different cameras. Have you tried doing the manual update using a different SD card?
