Hero 4 Session Crack On Lens

[ New ]
Hiya,
I've dropped my Hero 4 Session and as a result a crack has appeared. Everything works fine, don't affect the recording however I was wondering whether it would be waterproof still as it does not have a case.

Thanks

If the crack is anywhere on the metal/plastic body, then it's probably not safe for water. The lens is sealed (under the protective glass) so it probably wont ruin the camera if water gets to it, but it will cause fogging and water droplets to make photos/videos unusable. You can get a protective housing and some anti-fog inserts on amazon pretty cheap, so that might be the best option.

You will need anti-fog inserts if you use the Session in a housing as the camera gets very warm and will cause condensation to build up when used in water.

For a crack on the lens protector you can order a replacement from GoPro https://shop.gopro.com/accessories-3/lens-replacement-kit-hero-session/ARLRK-002.html

Unfortunately, I can't view your linked image as I'm on a work computer that has imgur blocked.

Hiya Daniel,
The part you have sent me has a crack in the top right to the middle on the right side. That's the best description I could give as you cannot see the image but in the future I will probably order that part. However, with the Crack does it mean it isn't waterproof anymore?

Thanks
