Hero 3+ black stops recoding or freezes after 6 seconds

My Hero 3+ black stops recording after 6 seconds. Sometimes the camera freezes so I remove the battery. I have updated to the latest firmware, tested multiple micro SD cards all formated with the GoPro itself. The only workaround I have found so far is to take a single photo after switching on the gopro before recording a movie. This solves the problem however is not very handy if you want to start the camera quickly to capture some action.

 

Any suggestions or fixes?

Hello @oliebedrijf. Which SD cards have you used? Are they among the recommended ones here https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/microSD-Card-Considerations ?

Hi, thanks for asking. I have tried  a 16GB and 64GB SanDisk Extreme UHS-I so should be fine. The SD cards also function in other video cameras but have been formatted with the GoPro before use.
