Re: Hero 2018 Water damage warranty

Hi @quickcliff08562

So long as all camera doors are closed, the HERO(2018) is waterproof down to 10m (33ft) without a housing.
While water damage is usually not covered by the warranty, let our Support Team take a look at what happened.
You may reach out to them by phone or chat. https://gopro.com/help/ContactUs

Thanks!

Ej

Re: Hero 2018 Water damage warranty

Dear friends. I am 57 years old and I am in serious years. I like photography, some of it can be seen on my instagram and facebook profile https://www.facebook.com/tomislav.neshic (Tomislav Nesic, Obrenovac, Serbia)

I use the GoPro action camera mainly when driving a scooter and photographing a landscape. I had several of your cameras and I was pleased with all of this with the current GoPro Hero 2018. I sold the old GoPro 4 Silver and bought a new camera just before the trip to the sea. I do not do diving, I thought if you guarantee that the camera is waterproof to a depth of ten meters, that a couple of meters of depth will withstand problems. The YT footage shows that I did not dive to a depth of more than two meters, the camera was properly closed and the original case in which the door can not open accidentally, but I quickly noticed that the water was taken in the camera for only a week. The water was seen on the front display that stopped working. The quickest thing I could get out of the battery, opened the two lids and put the camera to dry, but even after two days, the amount of water in front of the front display did not diminish, it was my fault that the sea water is scratched still and according to instructions from the YouTube channel , I opened only the front part to the display and continued to dry the camera. After a week and due to all this and broken vacation, I turned on the camera and the front display started working normally. The only thing I noticed is that the lower little LED does not work.

The camera should be opened by the authorized service, cleaned and then properly closed, however, the warranty has been rejected.

I hope that my problem will be solved in the best possible way. All Best, Tomislav
