Hi

Sorry to see you are having the same issue,
I did however find a solution to my problem and all I did was uninstalled and reinstalled my version of GoPro Quik which seemed to work for me.

Do you have original case for camera or some custom? I have one (aluminium) case that is blocking gps.

Yes, i'm using the original case. I've found something who seems like working. Before, for a practical reason, i'd mount the camera upside down. So i tried to mount it upside up and now it works much better. If it can help other people.

I've got the same issue with gps - it keeps loosing the signal while recording. Look at the picture - I;m fast, but not SO FAST.

No matter if I record in 1080p or 4k, still loosing signal even under the clear blue sky. Firmware 2.01, updated automatically and then manually. I  tried to reset the camera to the defaults, format sdxc card, reinstall quick - nothing helps :(

It's my first goPro and I'm really dissapointed in the quality - one thing is the not working GPS, but also I've got about 3-4 stuck pixels on the LCD. Shame on you goPro!

Had this issue with previous firmware as well, but occasionally, with latest update - I don't remember when I was able to get a proper GPS data.

I'm using gopro mostly for motorcycle rides, usually canyon rides, so signal should be somewhat clear. Also used it on track (Thunderhill) - results were inconsistent, some sessions were good others bad (same day diff time).
