Help needed - video did not save after filming

Hi all,

This is a long story but I'm desperate for some help and to hopefully recover a really special video I lost - thanks in advance for any help.

Basically I'm a bit of an amateur GoPro user and own a Hero 3+ Silver camera with a sandisk ultra 32gb sd card that I have used since I purchased my GoPro a number of years ago.
I recently went cage diving with great white sharks and had planned to film the dive using my camera. Prior to the dive a friend changed my video settings to record the footage in 1080 x 60 wide, instead of the standard setting. Before I jumped in I took a very short test video before starting the dive and filming an approximately 30 minute long underwater video of the sharks (an unreal experience).

During the dive I am certain the camera was filming as I periodically checked the video timer at the 6min, 22min and 26min mark. The red recording light was also on the entire time which both myself and my friend remember seeing.

After the dive I straight away connected my GoPro to the mobile app via wifi only to find that the video did not appear in the media library. The short test video was the last video recorded.
When I returned home I filmed another very short test video and found that this immediately showed up on the app next to the previous test video.
I inserted the sd card into my computer and found that the video still did not appear in the files. The sd card tells me I have used 9gb of 27gb and still have available space.

Just wondering if anyone may be able to assist or provide any advice. I have not used the camera since and I'm considering taking the sd card to a data recovery specialist in case the video was somehow deleted.

Any help is greatly appreciated as I'm desperate to get this video back.
Cheers

Re: Help needed - video did not save after filming

If the video was recorded there should be a lvr file associated to it on the card. If not, then it would appear to have not been recorded. If you have a data recovery specialist available to you, it would be worth having them take a look.

Once you have exhausted all of your options, throw the SanDisk Ultra away. It's a terrible card and should not be used in GoPro cameras.
