Both HERO7 Silver and White are designed to make capturing moments easier and better looking than ever, which is why these GoPros default to 1440p resolution video—this resolution captures the full width and height of the sensor to fully capture the activity you’re immersed in without worrying about mounting options or positions.
But we hear your desire for options, specifically for shooting in 1080p. In December, we’ll be launching a firmware update that allows the default video resolution to be either 1440p or 1080p on both HERO7 Silver and White. Until then, the GoPro and Quik apps allow users to create 1080p content from native 1440 captures. This article details the instructions on how to do it.

We have a list of available resolutions for the HERO7 cameras here. This might help with your query. As stated:
"HERO7 White captures full HD 1440p video with wide field of view (FOV). It’s the same resolution as 1080p, but with taller 4:3 aspect ratio. This is great for action shots and sharing to social media. You can crop your videos to 1080p using the the GoPro App."

4:3 is also awesome for the Quik mobile app and easily works with any of the formats: portrait, square or even the taller full frame mode. Recording in 16:9 only looks good in portrait.
