HERO 5 prompting too hot...shutting down repeatedly

HI...MY GO PRO HERO 5 WAS USED YESTERDAY WHILE SWIMMING IN THE BEACH AND SUDDENLY IT PROMPTED “TOO HOT (shutting down)” and the TEMPERATURE ICON appeared on the front screen...I LET IT COOL DOWN AND LET IT REST...I EVEN PUT IT IN THE FRONT OF AIR CONDITIONER TO COOL DOWN...WHEN I OPENED IT...THE SAME PROMPT SHOWED AND EVENTUALLY THE CAMERA WILL SHUT DOWN...I TRIED TO TROUBLE SHOOT A LOT OF TIMES BY REMOVING AND CHANGING THE BATTERY AND THE MEMORY CARD...I TRIED TO HOLD THE MODE BUTTON ALSO FOR 10 SECONDS AND SAME PROBLEM AND PROMPT WAS SHOWN...UNTIL NOW...NOTHING HAPPENS...THE CAMERAS STILL SHUTTING DOWN AND PROMPTING TOO HOT...I DON’T THINK MY CAMERA IS UNDER WARRANTY ANYMORE BECAUSE I BOUGHT IT THREE YEARS AGO...AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I ENCOUNTERED PROBLEM WITH MY HERO 5...PLEASE HELP ME WITH THESE ONE..Thanks in advance

Wait until the battery runs out completely then charge the camera.

Once fully charged, proceed with the manual software update. https://gopro.com/update
