HDMI Out during Recording on Hero 5

Hi!

Is there ANY chance to output a HDMI signal while recording internally on the Hero 5 Black ? All I can do is output live image as long as the camera is NOT recording, which is quite a bummer...

MY HDMI in hte camera is set to MEDIA.

 we have three options Live, Media, and Monitor,    I say this in the nicest way   are you on media like me, defaulted by camera, or fooled with it to Monitor, never making fun of anyone, here to help

 video is being processed .  Are you saying If I plug in my HDMI cable.  And I  simply hit  the shutter button I won't  be recording  and seeing it do that on my tv? and are you saying  if I  say gopro start recording, I also will not see it work, as well hitting the  shuter button.

You're the man, thank you!! that's exactly what i was looking for! HDMI media mode indeed works best for my purpose.

Now another thing comes up: when starting recording it squeezes the output image when set on certain resolutions (like 4k). on others i get a proper fullscreen image... guess there's not much i can do about but pray for a future firmware fixing that issue....

At least i can see something now... thanks for taking the time to make that video, it was a great help!

Ha ha ha no problem.  that  Isee an issue big time the  camera is what we're seeing from, not the tv and looks like the tv wins   over the camera.   Older model did not do that
