Are you saying there is no way to do this through the camera?

Hello Everyone!

Please check the settings on your Mac.

See if the "Access to Photos" option for Quik, was disabled in Security & Privacy settings.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks!

Maybe not... Just plug the memory card into a card reader which is so much easier and a simple resolution to your problem. Plus who wants to plug the actual camera into the computer there is no reason to. You can try the solutions offered to you above or keep on guessing if you like.

Re: H4B not recognized / displayed in iMac Finder

Actually it's about twice as fast to use an SD card reader than it is to access the files via USB connected to your camera.  The USB connection with the camera results in a bottle neck which can cause 2 things.

Files are transferred 50% slower.

Playback of files can be jittery and suffer from read/write issues which results in compression artifacts.

So it's actually always faster to use an SD Card reader plugged directly into your computer (and not a USB hub )

Looks like it’s going to be a SD card reader

Any recommendations which to buy? ... working with an iMac and GoPro 4

Re: H4B not recognized / displayed in iMac Finder

you can try a chinese cheapo "almost every where you go they want to push or sell these types" or you can go with a quality Sandisk model from ebay or camera shop. they run about 15 to 20 bucks and solid card readers. Go with a SD card reader then multicard reader type unless you are needed a compact flash card reader also. A dedicated SD Card reader tends to be the mos reliable and compact in size which is about the size of a table spoon and easily packs away into your camera bag or fits next to your laptop. Being a Imac user you should have a built into the imac a SD Card slot on the back of the computer unless you have the latest Imac which got rid of the SD card slot so check if you have one alreaady on your imac.
