I’m writing this as a representative of a group of Commercial Tandem paragliding Pilots.
As I said above we are working as professional tandem paragliders.
We are providing a flying experience to our guests who have never tried paragliding before.
One of our main income sources is the sales of video and photos of their flight experience.
Since Gopro was established we have been happily using all gopro models for many years, upgrading to each new model as soon as they are released.
We, and our clients, have always been satisfied with GoPro’s quality and reliability.
As a team we were so excited when the Gopro 7 was released on the market and 4 of our team members, including me, ordered the Gopro 7.
Unfortunately due to the problems listed below we are not able to rely on Gopro 7 anymore during our paragliding work.
We have all now had to start using our previous models 5-6 again.
• The main problem is all our Gopro 7s keep freezing and this has resulted in us missing recording our guests’ very important and exciting moments. As a result we have many unhappy clients and this has caused us a loss of income.
• Changing from the record mode, for example, from video mode to photo mode, takes sometimes 30 seconds and again this has caused us to miss important moments.
• Switching the camera on or off is sometimes a nightmare and very often we need to take the batteries out and insert again in order for the camera to work for a while and this is again causing us to miss the important moments.
• We have tried everything we can and all types off micro-sd cards from fastest to medium range but it’s still presenting the same problems.
Therefore we are very sure this is a problem with the GoPro and it’s not about the sd card.
If it was just one GoPro 7 camera presenting these problems we would understand it as a hardware issue or something else.
But with all 4 of our cameras having the same issues, we are certain this is a product fault.
For the first time ever, we are extremely disappointed with a Gopro product and highly regret purchasing the GoPro 7.
We are feeling that the Gopro 7 is a half measured product and we can no longer rely on the Gopro 7.
We are sincerely hoping you can offer us a solution or any recommendation.

Sorry for any troubles caused. Surely, this is not something we'd like you to experience as a GoPro customer.
What SD card/s are you using?
In most cases, the issues listed can be resolved by a manual software update.

I haven't heard of an issue with changing modes on this forum and have never experienced a significant delay myself. For this, SD card and manual update seem to be the only trouble shooting steps I can think of. Don't store media on SD cards (offload after your days shoot) and format the card in camera before each days shoot. This has always been the most consistently best practice for me to ensure my GoPro's work without issues.
I have had the odd seemingly no response from the camera when I first try to turn it on. It's not often, but does happen occasionally. For me, it's only been the first time I turn the camera on for that day. Once I've turned the camera on and let it sit for about a minute, then it's responsive for the rest of the day. It's almost like the camera needs to warm up first. Since your needs are mission critical, I'd do this every time prior to starting off with clients, just to be on the safe side.
I mostly use SanDisk Extreme v30 64GB cards and Samsung Select. I have several cards that work fine, but I have identified one SanDisk Extreme v30 card that consistently causes freezing about 12 minutes into use. Be sure to mark your cards so you can identify if there are any that seem less reliable than the others. Also, along with daily formats of the cards in the camera, periodically perform a FULL (not Quick) format of the card in your computer.

İm an experience gopro person and since first gopro I used all models.
All your recommendations already done.
Unfortunately we are still facing same troubles and believe me or not this is half measured product.
Most annoying thing I asked full refund by gopro they didn’t even response anything.
As a team we are feeling this is end of our association with gopro after all .
No real solution no response enough all the best gopro and future gopro users good luck
