Gopro in cold weather problem

Hello.
Yesterday I went for hiking.i used my gopro hero 6 black for filming and it was attached to my backpack.now I'm trying to watch the movies I captured yesterday.but each movie stops after few frames and it captured the same frame the whole 5 minutes.
I'm a climber.i bought this camera for capturing movies specially when it's snowing in mountains.now I have nothing🙁
I read another topics about hero 6 in cold weather and someone said you need to put it in your pocket and only bring it out when you want to capture a movie.its not possible for me cause we have big gloves and if I take off my gloves my hands will freeze🤔 after all the height of the mountain was 3400 meter.does it affect my camera?
Any suggestion for this problem? I'm going to another mountain and I really need to capture movies about it.
Thank you

Re: Gopro in cold weather problem

Imagine you got a hero 7 black..

keeping the cam warm is key.   if cold that is what happs batteries don have the umph to continue.  so hand warmers  sometimes helps etc...  like posted below the H7B will lose Hypersmooth noted on ehre at the  site.

Heads up: Image stabilization uses a lot of power when you’re shooting in high performance modes. In cold temperatures (0°C or lower) the battery’s capacity is reduced and is not able to keep up with the high-power usage. Because of this, HyperSmooth and Standard Stabilization are not available in these high-performance modes when operating in very cold temperatures:

  • 4K60
  • 4K24 4:3
  • 2.7K60 4:3
