I've had my gopro hero 7 black for about 3 weeks now and did not have any problems untill I took it to a water fall where some water droplets hit the camera. I thought this shouldn't have been a problem but right after, I tried to look at my photos and it wouldn't work. I don't know if this is because of the water or just an unlucky conicedence with outdated firmware or what, but help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you find any water inside the camera? What do you mean by "media playback not working"? Does the camera give a "No media" warning? Can you view any of the footage on a computer?
Make sure the actual SD card is good. One of my cards died in the middle of a vacation and I lost quite a bit of footage. Try using that card in a different camera and see if it works there.

If you are using it on your phone as well as the camera that could be causing issues as well. You should dedicate one card for each.
Also, what SD card (Make/Model/Size) are you using?
Do a full (not quick) format of the card in your computer.
Run a manual update on the camera
Go to Preferences>Reset and do a factory reset.
Lastly, if it's only happening when the rear LCD is wet (even a few water drops) it could be causing the issue as well. Wipe the LCD screen dry and then try to access your files.

Could it be the same issue we are experiencing?
