It would be best if you'll contact GoPro Technical Support Department.
For now you can try to manually update your camera.

I have already updated the firmware. It's weird though that the gopro distributor here in the phils say that this is normal with all gopro 6. This is a 1 week old unit, it's just weird that it seems a build quality issue. weird
