If you are in the US you will want to sign up for GoPro Plus. Keep a copy of your receipt and you should be good to go.

However, I don't see anything in there FAQ that says the benefits are limited to cameras purchased on their site.

yes but in gopro.com if you change the country from US to Australia.. the price of gopro fusion will become 999.

Until GoPro Plus is released outside of the United States you would need GoPro Care. You should contact the GoPro Support Team to verify your eligibility.
