It constantly stops recording fro now reason, or glitches out for no reason and records a single frame for the rest of the day until I stop it and restart it. Examples in vid. Yes I have approved SD Card known to work. Most times the gopro will record all day no problem but lots of times it does this crap and I lose video.

Hello @bwx232. If you have already manually updated the camera firmware and the SD card that you are using is a recommended one and has already been formatted, the next steps would be to engage our Support team for further troubleshooting. You may reach them by phone or chat through https://gopro.com/help/ContactUs . You may also direct them to your posts for reference on what steps have already been tried out.

Yup I tried all that.. plus it is a recommended SD card (I have three. One 256GB and two 128GB cards). Happens with all of them.
Tested and filled each one multiple times and bought from Amazon so I know they are real cards.
(sometimes fake cards are not full capacity but trick you into thinking they are but will not actually be able to use full capacity)
Plus I can record 4k 60fps on them and if they were fake I doubt they would do that.
SD Cards: Samsung 128GB 100MB/s (U3) MicroSDXC Evo Select Memory Card with Adapter (MB-ME128GA/AM)
(and a 256GB version)
I'm just bummed out because I think I'll get a "remanufactured" (or used) Gopro in return if I send mine in, or else they'll test mine and say no problems and send it back and I won't have it the entire time and it'll be a waste of time. I paid good money for this new one and take good care of it. This is my first real gopro too..
This all happened with the last FW from jan 2019 though. I just updated to Aug 2019 FW and it has not done that yet but I see other glitches with hypersmooth. I'd like to reset cam one more time with this new FW and test it before I contact support. I bought this Hero7 black in Nov 2018 so time is running out on my warranty.

Well I manually installed 1.80 and there is a bug that everyone who work at gopro are well aware of if they are at all competent. I am positive they know about this bug by now.. yet all I hear is crickets from them.
So now it did not freeze and stop recording because it is getting colder outside now. But now it is broken in a brand new way as many other people are also finding out I am sure after udating to 1.80. There are examples all over youtube and this forum.
So are all these cameras defective or is the software junk? I am leaning towards software, or possibly both. It's probably just software since it did not happen to mine before, not like this. The entire reason I bought this camera was 4k, hypersmooth, and superview. If those are broken on this cam, then I'd just go buy a Hero6 or cheap Chinese cam.
Thinking about getting my money back at this point if Gopro can't fix it.
