Hi everyone. I purchased a GoPro Hero7 Black on Prime day from Amazon.ca. It arrived and unfortunately the battery door was not flush so initiated a return. I got a replacement and verified with Amazon support that it was also from Amazon official stock, not a 3rd party. Now comparing the old packaging to the new packaging I noticed a difference.
First one I received: The metal tab that says "HyperSmooth" was inside the plastic casing and was metallic like most unboxing videos:
The new one I received had the "HyperSmooth" tab on the outside of the plastic case and it was not metallic but part of the cardboard box like this unboxing video:
Did I get a fake replacement or is GoPro changing the box design? Would be good to hear from an official GoPro source as well!

Different retailers will often have different packaging, there's also e-commerce packaging, this is where they realize a customer won't be looking the actual product on sale, but a display model, the actual product could arrive in a brown box.
I would simply think that the camera you received with the different packaging was made a few months post launch and costs were being cut to reduce the final price to the consumer (so a tab advertising hyersmooth as opposed to a whole cardboard band going around the outside of the box).
If you want to check whether or not you have a genuine GoPro Product, the best way you can do this is to register your camera at GoPro. They will as you to identify your camera through the serial number on their webpage. If it's fake, your camera will not register (as the serial number does not exist or there are multiple uses of the seriel number in existance).
While there were one or two reports of fake GoPro's on the market upon release, these news pieces weren't exactly truthful themselves and often turned out to be a case of a totally different camera being placed in a GoPro Hero box (camera's that didn't have the slightest resemblence to a GoPro or have any GoPro logo's on them).
In all fairness, I'd say you have the genuine article with just some packaging changes.
