Can we expect new firmware release(s) for 7 Black which will fix the existing errors or leave us alone with a buggy, unreliable but expensive gopro product?

It'as as if all the gopro firmware developers have been kidnapped to work on the GoPro Hero 8....
Someone out there must know if / when a firmware update is possible. Even a rough idea would be good.
