Just spent a pretty penny on a gopro hero 6 to shoot 240 fps videos.
I copied the 240 fps files to my computer, but i now i cannot open the files, and there isnt any way to see or edit the files.
I dont have any fancy movie editing software, when i bought the camera didnt expect to have unusable files.
Gopro studio cannot open the files, and they dont show up in Quik either, totally stuck.

You need support for H265 aka HEVC video compression.

Thank you for the info on H.265, i didnt even know what that was.
The gopro hero 6 was marketed as an average consumer product, but after researching for software to edit/decode,
it seems that professional software is needed just to open.
If you know of any free software, i would love to hear about it, or if anyone knows if gopro is working on it, or updating gopro studio etc.
Thank you for your help.

i think its less of software problem and more of a hardware problem, newer cards gtx 970+ have hevc codecs hardcoded in.
i have the same problem and i use proffesional software to play my video content, my gtx 460's cant handle it, lmao.
I am looking at video card upgrades now, with that said if you cant affored to upgrade your hardware a temporary solution is to downscale the video to 60fps 1080p and it will play fine.
