I have another Hero 5 that just started leaking out of the blue. Salty water, and now it won't turn on. I've seen quite a few posts here regarding the same issue and all of them seem to get in touch with the support and get a replacement unit.
The problem is: I can't contact GoPro support - been waiting for an hour for a live chat (during their work hours), wrote a message on Facebook.
No idea what to do next and I would like to have it resolved quickly.

I am sorry you are having some trouble getting through to support. Support is experiencing higher than usual volumes and are working to help each customer as quickly as possible in the order in which they were received. Once you do get through to support they will determine what the issue with the camera is and the next steps in the process.

thank you for replying.
After about another half an hour I was able to get in touch with the support. They did not tell me what to do immediatelly (and maybe save the camera), but asked me for photos of battery and USB doors. Now I'm waiting for their response.
Hopefully it will get resolved.

@shomz What method did you use to finally get in touch with support? I have the same issue and cannot get through to anyone with any method.
At this point I am thinking I will have to try and repair it myself...

You need to find a new camera as GoPro will not help you. Their customer service is manned by blow up dolls.
Buy a Yi or maybe one of these https://www.amazon.com/AKASO-EK7000-Sports-Waterproof-Camcorder/dp/B01HGM33HG/ref=sr_1_5?s=photo&ie=...
