Something is wrong with the original post. Replies just disappear.
I really want to like this camera after having a go pro 4 silver but seem to be buggy!
It will not turn on from time to time & you have to pull the battery which is annoying. Start to think its faulty.
I have only got the GPS to work once & another time it was all messed up, no speed etc! I have updated it twice and have reset it.GPS is turned on & goes white on the display.Anyway to check the gps is actually working with different software?
The newest Go pro-Quik seem to be buggy and crashes a lot! Trying an older version which may have helped.
SanDisk ultra 64gb
Now a Sandisk extreme 32gb from that list.
I have been testing the latest update this weekend. Locked up twice today and when turning off. All leds still on.
AMD Ryzen 2600
geforece gtx 1060 3Gb

I am having the same GPS issue and its very frustrating. I am new to GoPro & Action Cams so this is pretty disappointing after hearing about how great they are for years.
From the constant GPS issues to the half-assed working Quik software I am starting to lean towards returning it all to REI and getting something like Insta360 One or One X.The One X has a GPS remote coming soon.
@noblevista04582are you still having issues as well?

A new SD card by Samsung sorted the freezing issues. Samsung card . I don't bother with Quik software when testing GPS try DashWare. Not got round to testing the GPS on the new camera as it's usually upside down which does not work for GPS. It needs to be upright.

I did see some mentions about that. My first SD card was this one from the GoPro recommended list.
SanDisk Extreme UHS-I 32GB | SDSDQXL-032G-A46A or SDSQXNE-032G-AN6M
So then I picked up this higher quality card also from the GoPro recommended list.
SanDisk Extreme MicroSDXC (UHS-I / V30) A2 64GBSDSQXA2-064G-AN6MA
Which is also having the same issues as the 32GB card. :(
I will look into DashWare to see what it shows.
The Hero7 Black itself rarely shows the GPS connected icon black indicating connection.
