Is the gopro 7 black battery life really this bad?
I just bought a brand new gopro hero 7 black, unboxed and fully charged via wall. Then I went on to update the firmware which is now running the latest 1.51. I have gone through all the settings and turned off everything possible that would eat battery life such as (quick snap, voice commands, wifi, etc) and even reduced lcd brightness. After about 20-30 min just playing with settings the camera was already at 70% battery life. Turned off for the night and turned on today to find I lost another 4% while its been off. Then for maybe 5min I took a few quick 20-30sec clip recordings to test out some and battery life was ate another 9% and sitting now at 57%.
So far thats less than 24hours total time, with maybe 35min actual on time and only 5min of that is recording time. This feels like its way below even an acceptable battery life especially with no extra features even on.

Well i wished gopro made a deeper bat tray to accept a highercap battery then the standard to get that added battery life. I can not image shooting 4K@60 with hypersmooth and getting 40 minutes OUCH!.. there is a battery issuesection you may want to join in on aboutthis...
besrt to have a few batteries and or powerbank. or I hear say unacceptable i'll retrurn and get a hero 6. check see what others are getting...

I just got mine as well (GoPro7 black) had took it for its maiden motorcycle ride and got about 30 min as well. So that sucks but the hypersmooth and image quality lived up to the hype at least. Now to upgrade my computer so I can actually process 4k lol.,
