If it does not, then the next step is what I wrote above... double-check it's not the SD card by trying another SD card. If the second SD card does not have the lag, then the issue is likely with the first SD card.

So guys. Bad news on my end. Finally got the card reader, manually put the file into the micro SD card and installed on my gopro.
I ensure I got the check mark and turned it on knowing its V1.60
Gallery loading time is still 40 seconds+. Didn't fix my problem.
Just updated the tech support rep Jaivy now. I'll see how we can fix this problem....
The lag is just killing me.....preventing me from wanting to take more pictures and videos!!! ARGH~

@norrisyu - What SD card are you using? Also, is it possible to clear the card and reformat it? If there are a lot of files on the card (especially non-GoPro files), that could create the lag we're seeing as the camera scans the files and tries to read them.
Finally, if you have another card, can you try that? It would help isolate if the issue is related to a specific card or not.

I basically have ruled out the card problem because I had swapped my card with my friend's that was using GOPRO 4.
He had minimal lag time on his gopro 4 (around 5 seconds wait) while mine is 1 minute.
When my gopro 6 was reading his card.....same thing....long lag.
Felt like his gopro hero 4 had better spec than my gopro 6!
Also there are no other " non go pro files" Brand new Sandisk Extreme pro 64 gb micro SD card.
If I reformat the card, I'm sure the loading time will definitely be a lot faster as there is no files to read....But i really doubt its the card problem
