Gopro 5 session only runs with plugged in (external) power

Dear All, 

 

My gopro worked perfectly fine for approx. 7 days. After that, it got problems with connecting to app and it shut down more or less immediately.

 

Now my gopro 5 session only works when its plugged in to external power. (and only when its plugged in to a charger, not to laptop; if plugged with USB to laptop, it stays in USB mode and nothing works except loading I think....). No loading with red lights on...just USB mode is on.

 

As soon I change to external power charger, it allows me to go to menu and do all the stuff and also gets connected to the app after connectiong to network. I can use all the functions while power is plugged in. App says that battery is full.

 

As soon I remove the charger, nothing works; no menu, no recording, just nothing. I did (hard) resets on the cam, tried all firmware versions...its all the same; charger connected...works...charger disconnected, nothing works.

 

Any help out there?
