Gopro 5 battery not charging & not connecting to app [ New ]

My Go Pro Hero 5 battery has not been able to hold a charge for the latest update it needs. I had it plugged into my computer and a wall outlet for 15 minutes and it still has remained at 17 percent with no indication that the battery is charging. Ontop of this when I tried to reconnect to the app on my phone it is stuck in an endless loop where the phone app tells me to connect using my camera, when I do the app just loops back to the loading screen with the different options of the different cameras. Looking for any help

Have you tried using a different cable/adapter?

It is best to charge cameras using a wall charger.
