My GoPro has been working fine until this morning. I was downloading some images and footage on my iPhone 6 Plus when I got a message asking me if I wanted to do an update. All went well and I got a tick and a message on the GoPro saying that the update was successful.
However, it refused to turn on after the update. I removed the memory card and the battery and pressed the power/Mode button for 10 sec and the the record button as I inserted the battery. The screen turned on and I could see the scene in photo mode but the screen was dark blank in video mode. Switching back to the photo mode it freezes after a few seconds.
I am on holiday and had purchased it especially for that purpose. I don’t have access to a desktop computer. I am regretting that I accepted the update when it popped up. Am I stuck?
Any thoughts or suggestions to revive it?

Hello @megaflare27. Re-flashing camera firmware will help, but this could only be done through a desktop or laptop. By any chance, would you be able to borrow one? Re-flash could be done following steps below:
- Go to the Update page and choose your HERO7 camera.
- Under "Other ways to update" at the base of the page, click "Update your camera manually."
- Enter your Serial Number and other requested information, click Next Step.
- Click "Download Update."
- Click "Click here to download firmware."
- Follow the steps on the screen for detailed instructions for your operating system.
Make sure that the camera is fully charged, and that the SD card is among the recommended ones on this list. Let us know how it works out. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. As I am on holiday I don’t have access to a laptop either. I travel with an iPad these days.
If the update date through a phone is buggy then best not to give users that option.
my GoPro is packed away to my disappointment as it is unusable for the moment. 😕

Sorry to hear about that, @megaflare27. We will submit a feedback to the team. The team is currently working on a new version of the app and must be testing all included features like software updates. We will post about it once it is released. Best regards!

Thank you. Problem solved on my return home last night.
I downloaded the Update on to a memory card. Switched on the GoPro Black and instantly gort the message 'Updated'.
What puzzles me is that I had received the same message on the screen earlier when I had attemnpted the upldate through my mobile device but subsequent to that the GoPro had stopped functioning. So, I am not sure what had gone wrong.
Many thanks for your help.

Thank you for the update, @megaflare27. Great to know that the issue is resolved. We still have not heard from the team as to why the update via app did not actually go through. We will still update once we get new information. Appreciate you posting back. Enjoy using your GoPro!

It seems your support teem are lacking some what, maybe look into replacing them with 7 year olds. (geeks have run their race, like all computor stuff,, needs upgrade)

I get that your experience hasn't been great, but, "replacing them with 7 year olds" isn't even remotely witty or clever. Reposting the same comment on more than one post is just sad. BTW, jumping into someone else's post attempting to highjack it, especially when they've noted the issue as being solved, is poor etiquette.
