GoPro session 5 Looping. Not working!!!

Ok so how do I put this. Honestly I don’t know if i just have to high of expectations or that my GoPro isn’t Working right.

Exspectations: I put my GoPro on 5 min loop. It automatically records for 5 mins unlimited times until I press the shutter. Then it’ll save the last 5 mins and I press shutter again to start the unlimited 5 min loop recordings.

What’s happening: I do 5 min looping sessions on my GoPro. After the 5 min is up my GoPro stops recording and saves to my sd card. I must press the shutter button for it to start recording another 5 min. Then after 1 5 min session it stops again. Also after pressing the shutter button once it saves the first 5 min and I have to go in and delete it all.

Why is it not recording 5 min intervals unlimited times until I press the shutter button once? Why does it just stop after 5 mins and I’m forced to press the shutter button to start another recording?

If you're on looping mode and it's not working you may try to update your camera manually by following manual update steps here: https://gopro.com/help/articles/how_to/Software-Update-Instructions-for-HERO5-Cameras

 

And try to check if you have a recommended SD card brand and model: https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/microSD-Card-Considerations

Thanks for the feedback but there is not an update for my GoPro that I can find. It is only two days old out of the box. So I do not know what is wrong with it. I filmed with it over the weekend and it still does not work. Any other ideas?

Also I have the recommend SD card.

Were you able to complete the manual update?

Though your camera is already on the latest version, it's best to reflash the firmware.

This corrects any errors encountered on the previous installation.

 

What specific SD card are you using?

How are the other shooting modes? Are they working?

The San disk extreme 64gb and it’s not only my GoPro session 5 it’s also my GoPro hero 5 black. Both will not keep the video looping going both stop at what ever time I set. And I did update both.
