GoPro keeps saying it's repairing a file

Gopro 7 White randomly stops recording with a message: Repairing your file. Sometimes after 1 minute, sometimes after 20, sometimes it records for an hour without problems. It is behaving this way from new. About every 10 videos it stops recording. It is on the latest firmware.

I've tried 4 different SDcards including 2 on the support list and the problem is the same.

All cards were tested, formated, and they work in other devices without problems.

The camera is not getting hot and it seems it works normally. Sometimes it takes up to 20sec to boot.

Re: GoPro keeps saying it's repairing a file

Hi @snowystorm2658,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. If your camera displays bicycle and a plus sign (+) or bandage or "REPAIRING FILE" notification, this means that a file may have been corrupted during prior filming or access of the SD card.

In order to prevent this from happening, please us a known-good SD card for your camera. Here’s a link to our SD Card Considerations article.

It is also advisable to format the SD card before use. (NOTE: Reformatting the SD card will delete all data off of the card, so be sure that you save any videos or pictures you want to keep on your computer before reformatting the SD card.)

I also suggest to reset camera settings to see if that helps.

If the issue persists, reinstalling the firmware update of the camera can help correct any errors with the current software installation. Follow the manual update instructions specified on this article: Software Update Instructions for HERO7 Cameras

Hopefully this helps.
