GoPro hero4 silver not functional

I recieved, along with my brother, a gopro hero 4 silver around 2 years ago. We both got one. His works perfectly fine, but mine never seemed to work. I forgot about it as we were just sharing his for a while but now I really want to figure out how to work mine. I probably only got to use it 1 or 2 times before it stopped working. I have charged it and turned it on. When I turn it on, the screen is black. I try to go to a different mode and the whole camera just freezes. I tried to hold the top button for 11 seconds but nothing has happened. I have also removed the SD card, and this did not help either. This is very frustrating because it has not worked since I have gotten it. I know I should have done something sooner, but it was a gift. Does anyone have any solutions? I'm desperate!

Try your brother's SD card in the camera and do a manual update.  If this doesn't work, contact GoPro Customer Service.  Even though your camera is out of warranty, they will try to work with you. https://gopro.com/help
