GoPro hero 7 silver

[ New ]
My camera is only a month old and when I press the power button it switches on for a few seconds then switches off.
I have charged the camera fully but the error still occurs.
I’m really upset as I bought the camera for a holiday but now I’m half way through my holiday and can’t use it.

What SD card are you using?
Please be sure to use a card from this list https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/microSD-Card-Considerations

If possible, try your camera with a different card.

If another card isn't available, perform a FULL (not Quick) format of the card in your computer followed by a format in the camera. Be sure to offload all of your media or it will be lost when you format.

Another option you should try is performing a manual update on the camera (new firmware was released today). https://gopro.com/update/hero7-silver

I’ve bought an SD Card from the GoPro list and also updated the software update and am still experiencing the same problems, it just switches itself off.
Any further suggestions?

Doing the manual update on the camera should take care of this issue. Instructions on how to do that are at https://gopro.com/update/hero7-silver.

I’ve completely charged the camera.
I switch it on and it defaults to video recording. I press the power button to stop the recording and it powers off.
Its highly frustrating as it was a new camera and it’s lost all my holiday footage which is what I bought it for originally :(

You might using the Shutter (top button). It is the QuikCapture button and does not serve as the power button. While the camera is off, press the Mode (side) button to power the camera on. Then you can navigate through the modes and preferences. Use the top button to initiate any function.

Learn more about the QuikCapture button here: https://gopro.com/help/articles/question_answer/What-is-QuikCapture-and-How-Does-it-Work

Let us know how it works out. Thanks!
