What do you propose I do? I know it has it's limits but still works great and takes the quality of video and stills I was expecting.
If I am to submerge it.....I'll put it in it's case. No biggie. I kitesurf, I snowboard, I SUP, I climb, I sail, I bike, I hike.......lots I can do with it, all without the underwater case.
If I snorkel or scuba which I do, I'll put it in its case.

yeah, that is my plan to: if going underwater, use a case. I think GoPro should be giving those cases with replacements, though, as opposed to use spending MORE money to make it as waterproof as they claim. My RMA has been submitted, so now I just wait...

If you are in australia and purchased from an australian retailer, they will replace it. The camera is not fit for purpose and according to australian consumer law, it must be replaced. I bought mine from the good guys and they replaced it on the spot, no arguments.

My new GoPro Hero5 Black has also leaked water behind the front screen within 2 weeks of being goven for birthday.
It was used during a mud run obstacle course, but never at a depth over 0.5m;
Have contacted Customer support and following having to provide them with a lot of info and photo and proof of purchase, they said water damage is not covered by warranty; and that the only way for them to leak was user issues; Not the response I wanted.
I was also told any repair would be my own expense and if I wanted to return the camera to GoPro they woudl offer me a 40% discount; A complete insult, especially with so mucgh advertising as being waterproof to 10m.
They told me this is the same offer given to everyone in relation to water damage, yet I read on here that some of you are saying they replaced your damaged product, can anyone confirm this please, as I am far from impressed with the response.

That's why GoPro recommends using the Super Suit when using the Hero 5 in water *lol*
Not at the 5-8' depth that the previous user said they went to?
Here's gp's own words....
Rugged + Waterproof
Durable by design, HERO5 Black is waterproof
to 33ft (10m) without a housing.
