My hero 5 is leaking water and it seems to be stuffing up the audio and is gathering around the front screen, any help?

@debinaz, I'm glad they are able to replace the camera for you. @kg78, if the camera is still working then that may be okay, but it would still be a good idea to contact support in case they want to exchange the camera as a preventative measure.
This shouldn't happen, as long as all of the doors are sealed properly and you stay above the 10m depth limit. Out of curiosity, were the cameras being used in a humid environment, and was the weather warm or cold?

Hi @Anonymous,
Can you post some pictures so that we can see a bit better what is happening? The water is in the LCD screen on the front or the back, or is it by the camera lens?
The mic holes naturally act to drain out water after the camera is submerged, and I am assuming that you had the camera in the water, right? Are the battery and leftside ports fully closed by their doors, and are those doors' seals clean? Where are you seeing the water come out of?

Sounds like a similar issue I had after using the camera for couple of times in a pool. The doors of the camera were closed good, but I noticed on the third day of using it a kind of condense water inside the front screen. Eventually it dried out over night and camera works fine. But wonder if this is normal behavior and can lead to problems.

My camera did the exact same thing. Sadly, two days later the camera failed and wouldn't turn on. GoPro is exchanging it for me.

HI! It was very warm and humid. We were in Florida. It was only submerged in less than a a foot of water. The interior was completely dry - and didn't appear to have any obvious leaking areas.

The front screen and the water has stuffed the mica so I think it has gone through the mic holes
