GoPro hero 5 black footage is choppy

Hello I have a huge problem I’m going on vacation in just 7 days and my GoPro hero 5 footage is down right unwatchable when I plug it in to my computer it is choppy and almost appears to be in slow motion when I view it from the GoPro itself and from the app i can view it normally but when I go to edit it on the computer its choppy, horrible resolution, and it runs slower. It doesn’t run smooth like it once did I tried watching it on three different computers and all got the Same result. I can’t afford to buy another right now and there’s not enough time to send it in and hope to get another one before I leave. Please help.

Re: GoPro hero 5 black footage is choppy

It's not the camera, it's your computer(s). What are you using to view/edit? What was your resolution/frame rate? What are the computer specs? Are the videos transferred to the computer or are they still on the SD card?

Re: GoPro hero 5 black footage is choppy

I’m using shotcut to edit, my resolution on my GoPro is 4K 30fps, my videos are on my sd card when I view them.

Re: GoPro hero 5 black footage is choppy

That's your issue. If the files are still on the card, the transfer rate to your computer is too slow. You want to have the files on the computer.

Can you create proxies files with Shotcut? If yes, move your LRV files over as well. If you change their extension to mp4, you can use them as proxies files.
