GoPro Starts recording automatically after charging up

After I charge my GoPro via a power bank or a wall adapter and keep it aside removing the charger, it starts a video recording in its own. Have observed this behaviour almost always. I have updated the firmware manually a month ago.

It is not a normal behavior. When turned and being charged, the camera should show a red solid light. The only time that the red light will turn off is when the camera is already fully charged. If the camera has already been manually updated and still behaves this way, let our Support team help further determine what is causing the trouble. Did you mean that after charging the camera, it records on its own without the need to press any button? If this is the case, see if the camera is connected to a mobile device through the GoPro App, or a remote control that is nearby that might be interacting with it. 

If you are pressing the Shutter button (top button with the red circle), it will be normal for the camera to start recording as this is how the Quik Capture works. You can read more about it here. If you simply wants to turn the camera on without doing any recording, you can use the side (Mode) button instead of the shutter button. If this is not the issue that you have, please let us know so we can help further.

I shut down all the wireless connections, GPS and voice commands. The quick capture mode is also disabled.

When the camera starts recording on its own, it shows the GPS and WiFi logo.

Once the manual update is completed reset the camera to its factory settings.

I have found that the reset gets the issue resolved.

So far so good, followed the steps and the camera is not misbehaving.

But I have not used the camera much.
