I really wanted to shoot 360 photos as rapidly as possible. This sort of thing might be useful if you're trying to do high-resolution imagery collections. Video modes shoot at a significantly lower resolution, so I hacked a GoPro remote to mash the shutter button. I wrote more details here.
tl;dr: Buy a cheap remote off ebay ($15, batteries likely dead), drop in a TPL5111 to mash the shutter button!
The camera can't shoot faster than about 12 frames/minute, but that's good enough for me!
