Company purchased gopro. How do I know which model I have?

Once you know the type of GoPro, if you have a Hero3 or 3+ you'll want to know if it's a White, Silver or Black. The colour code the model number on the front face should help you to figure this out, but you can also identify it by just looking at your available resolutions/frame rates. You can use this chart to help identify the camera.  Not every camera is listed so if your available settings aren't on this chart, you can also look through the user manuals. https://gopro.com/help/productmanuals

Some of the resolution/frame rates are the same like with the Hero3+ Black and Hero4 Silver, but these are easy to distinguish as the Hero4 Silver has an LCD screen on the back while the Hero3+ Black does not.  Both Session cameras are small cube shaped cameras. The Hero5 Session has it's name printed on the side.

Cameras with LCD back screens:

Hero+LCD, Hero4 Silver, Hero5 Black, Hero6 Black

If the camera is permanently fixed inside a housing it's part of the discount HERO (2014) models (HERO, HERO+, HERO+LCD).  If it has a (+) on the front it's the Hero+ and has Wi-Fi capability. If it has a (+) on the front and an LCD on the back it's a HERO+LCD.

If you're not sure if it's a Hero5, Hero6, or Hero (2018), both the Hero5 and Hero6 have the name of the camera printed on the side near the protective lens. The Hero does not have 4K or 2.7K resolution and other features like GPS.  Only the Hero6 has 4K/60 as an available resolution/frame rate.

Good question. The GoPro camera would have labels on the outside - for later models, you can check near the lens (righ below or at the side) for a label starting with HERO. For example, HERO 6, HERO 5, HERO. We can also verify model through the serial number. This article discusses on ways of finding the serial number and shows pictures of different camera models as well.

if it has a screen swipe down go to prefrence and see ABOUT  it should display a camera modeil or  whein it started up say hero 4, 5, 6
